Improve Your Child’s Biomechanics

Jiu-Jitsu technique involves understanding body awareness. When taught to apply proper Jiu-Jitsu technique, you will notice a significant increase in your child’s overall mechanics and a much more stable and athletic frame.

Better Cardio And Confidence

Jiu-Jitsu drills and specific technique training allows for not only a complete form of cardio to burn fat, but also teaches children how to train grappling and learn how to defend themselves under a safe and professional environment. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is superior to other martial arts in this regard because the tactics and techniques revolve around overcoming opponents without necessarily causing them harm. What’s more, thanks to the advanced techniques, it’s not uncommon for a relatively small person to defeat a much larger and stronger opponent.

Positive Team Atmosphere

We take great pride in providing a positive and safe environment to grow and learn alongside each other. Building a strong sense of collaboration to improve everyone’s confidence and help one another is something we try to emphasize for children in our program.

Improve Integrative Strength And Coordination

In BJJ, one of the primary things you learn is how to use your entire body to exert force. When technique is taught properly, your child will learn to build functional integrative strength for a more stable, fit, and complete physique.

Weight Loss And Muscle Tone

Martial Arts (and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, in particular) are a fantastic way to become more active and trim some weight. The reason for this is simple:

To lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit. In doing so, you force the body to start using fat for fuel and get the remaining calories it needs to keep functioning.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is fantastic because it’s challenging and helps us burn lots of calories. It’s not uncommon for practitioners to burn upward of 500 calories in a single session. That alone adds up and can lead to significant weight loss without you even modifying your nutrition.

Improved Mental Health

Practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a fantastic way to improve our mental health and keep it elevated. Because the sport involves continual growth and improvement, there is an inherent feeling of progression and fulfillment.

Thanks to the social factor, we also spend time with positive and like-minded individuals who profoundly affect our outlook and world view.

Resistance Bands

Resistance Bands help to build and maintain muscle while reducing risk of injury. Research indicates that training with resistance bands is a practical and highly effective means of increasing strength no matter what age. Originating in the early 20th century, the bands were originally made from surgical tubing and the exercises conducted for muscle rehabilitation, and resistance band training is now used widely as part of general fitness and strength training. Resistance bands are simple to use, and their light weight allows people to easily carry them if travelling and continue with routine sessions for strength training.

Medicine Balls

A medicine ball (also known as an exercise ball, a med ball, or a fitness ball) is a weighted ball which serves as an important role for the purpose of building explosive power as well as an assortment of dynamic exercise techniques. The medicine ball also serves an important role in the field of sports medicine to improve strength and neuromuscular coordination. Hippocrates is said to have stuffed animal skins for patients to toss for medicinal purposes. Similar large balls were used in Persia in 1705. The term "medicine ball" dates back to at least 1876, in American Gymnasia and Academic Record, by Robert Jenkins Roberts Jr.

Dip Bars and Push-up Bars

A dip bar is sometimes known as a dip station, and it is a piece of exercise equipment that allows a person to brace the body with the hands and dip the rest of the body when the legs are lifted off the ground. It features a sturdy stand with two horizontal bars parallel to each other. The dip bar can be used for a variety of exercises that use the body's weight as resistance for building muscle, improving balance, improving mobility, and toning the upper body. This unit is usually fairly inexpensive when compared to other pieces of exercise equipment. Push-up bars are similar to dip bars. However, they are shorter in that they make for a much more comfortable grip for body weight pressing exercises.

BOSU Balls and Balance Boards

A BOSU Balance Trainer (or BOSU ball) is a fitness training device, invented in 1999 by David Weck. It consists of an inflated rubber hemisphere attached to a rigid platform. The device is often used for balance training. When the dome side faces up, the BOSU ball provides an unstable surface while the device remains stable. This combination of stable/unstable allows a wide range of users, from the young, elderly, or injured to the elite level athlete. With the dome side up, the device can be used for athletic drills and aerobic activities. The device can be flipped over so that the platform faces up. In this position, the device is highly unstable and can be used for other forms of exercise.

Bulgarian Bags

Bulgarian Training is a crescent-shaped exercise equipment used in strength training, plyometric weight training, cardiovascular exercise, and general physical fitness. The bags are made of leather or canvas and filled with sand; with weights ranging from 11lbs to 50lbs and have flexible handles to allow for both upper and lower body training, as well as building grip strength. The Bulgarian Bag was invented by Ivan Ivanov in the year 2005. Ivanov, a former Bulgarian Olympic athlete, was working as a U.S. Olympic wrestling coach at the Olympic training center in Marquette, Michigan, and was looking for a training tool that would allow his wrestlers to improve explosive action and dynamic movements involved in pushing, twisting, swinging, pulling, bending, rotating, squatting, lunging, and throwing.

Hand Grippers and Wrist Rollers

Hand grippers are primarily used for testing and increasing the strength of the hands; this specific form of grip strength has been called crushing grip, which has been defined as meaning the prime movers are the four fingers, rather than the thumb.

The wrist roller is a device designed for strengthening the forearm muscles together in a rolling-pulling motion. It consists of a bar of varying lengths, with a cord or rope attached, which the user rolls and unrolls. This is resisted by the weight of a mass at the bottom of the cord. Rolled and unrolled, it has a concentric and eccentric proportion. Different forearm muscles, specifically the flexors and extensors can be targeted by rolling the bar in opposite directions; that is by having the rope either on your side or on the opposite one respectively. It can even be performed (with lighter weights) manipulated by the fingertips to develop dexterity.

Dumbbells and Bench

The dumbbell, a type of free weight, is a piece of equipment used in weight training. It can be used individually or in pairs, with one in each hand. With a centralized handle and weight on either side, dumbbells make for very versatile tools and equipment with practically endless uses. For this reason, we have decided to use them as part of our fitness program.

Grappling Dummies

A grappling dummy is a tool that people use to practice various wrestling techniques from martial arts and sports. These are usually made to be heavy enough to feel somewhat realistic, and most of them have movable joints or at least bendable limbs. In theory, a grappling dummy will allow a wrestler or grappler to work on their technique and conditioning without having to rely on a training partner. Ultimately leading to more freedom when it comes to practicing techniques.

Ab Bench and Ab Rollers

The ab roller is a simple device: two handles connecting a wheel. But don't let its simplicity fool you. An advanced training tool, the ab wheel benefits the core, triceps, lats and shoulders. When using the ab roller, your core moves to prevent your back from arching, while flexing the spine to both stretch and contract your abs through a full range of motion. This movement provides a huge challenge to your rectus abdominus, the six-pack muscle, as well as deep spinal stabilizers, such as the transverse abdominus.

An ab bench is a simple piece of fitness equipment for doing advanced abdominal exercises. It can be used to perform various styles of crunches. An ab bench resembles a small, declined weight bench. At the top end of the bench are pads to hold your feet in place.
